  Blade Runner - The Director's Cut (2004/1982)

Re released in 2004, the Ridley Scott "Director's Cut" version of this classic 1982 Sci Fi Noir Thriller finally does the genre justice. After cutting the obnoxious Voice Overs (forced in by cement headed studio execs) and adding in necessary shots and character development, the film stands out as a new classic 27 years after it's first release in 1982.

SUMMARY: In a brutal and perpetually rainy version of Los Angeles circa 2019, Hard Boiled Detective Rick Deckart (Harrison Ford) reluctantly agrees to do "One More Job"; hunt down and "retire" five AWOL replicants (human like androids) that have come back to Earth for some sinister reason. The dark secret that he uncovers about their true mission and the shocking truth he discovers about himself, create one of the most poignant story reversals in cinematic history.

INSIDE FACT: When this film was first released in 1982, Father of Cyberpunk, author William Gibson(VIRTUAL LIGHT, BURNING CHROME) reportedly walked out of the theater in tears over the vision of the future that Ridley Scott had created stating that Scott had captured the very images he had in his own mind while writing his seminal Cyber Punk tome NEUROMANCERwhich was published just two years later (1984) garnering Hugo, Nebula and Philip K. Dick awards.
